Bryan Boone's Cancer Treatment

My name is Mike Boone. Bryan is my older brother and co-founder of Heavy Lies the Helmet. Bryan is only 41 years old and has been diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer (adenocarcinoma) that has metastasized to his liver. I ask on behalf of our family that you please help us ease this burden.

 

Bryan has dedicated his life to serving others. As an Educator, EMT, and Registered Nurse for over 20 years, he has been directly and indirectly responsible for helping tens of thousands of patients. This includes working as a Critical Care Transport/Flight Nurse prior to his current position as Director of an emergency department. From an early age, Bryan knew he wanted to care for people in need. If it was not for Bryan's influence, I would not be working in healthcare today.

 

Working alongside my brother has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. This is Bryan and I receiving helicopter training together in Guatemala:

 

Before becoming a RN, Bryan enjoyed working on cars, skateboarding, snowboarding, rock climbing, playing bass, and speaking American Sign Language fluently. His current passions include hunting, off-roading, riding motorcycles, and most importantly, spending time with his 8 year old son, Franklin. Bryan has an arduous journey ahead of him. As you can imagine, this diagnosis is associated with a poor prognosis. He is not a candidate for surgery, so he will begin aggressive chemotherapy immediately. The entire amount of funds will be used to pay his medical bills and any associated expenses. Bryan did not ask me to raise money for him. He never would, because he is a selfless person. This is simply my chance to pay him back for being one of the best brothers a person could ever ask for.
