Bryson Gardner's Heart

Donation protected
This Go Fund Me is to help a friend, coworker, and his Family. No parent should have to stress over work, bills, food, and money while their child is severely ill. Bryson, the son of Brandon and Ashley, will need a heart transplant due to his restrictive cardiomyopathy. Ashley has had to take time off work as Bryson has been admitted to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. Please join me in helping raise money to allow Bryson’s parents to take time off work to spend with him and help with any expenses (medical, travel, housing, food, etc.)

I know times have been difficult for many of us, but we greatly appreciate any donation. NO amount is too small. EVERY LITTLE PENNY ADDS UP.

Bryson’s story.

In December 2019, Bryson was diagnosed with severe hypertrophic cardiomyopathy after having a respiratory virus that caused the expression of his genetic mutation that was specific for cardiomyopathy.
In January, CPR has to be performed on him due to a breath-holding spell causing his heart to stop. Then five more times in February 2020, right after his first birthday.

In October 2020, Bryson became severely anemic, not related to his heart condition. Due to his heart, he was admitted and transfused to ensure it did not create any cardiac issues. That’s when the echo started showing possible signs of restrictive cardiomyopathy. Bryson’s parents were advised that if he has restrictive, the prognosis is poor because it is rare, and no medication or intervention improves the outcome. They were told that if he continued to show signs of RCM on echo, he would need a cath.

On April 20th, 2021, RCM was confirmed due to his heart now causing holes between the two ventricles to relieve the pressure building up in the left ventricle. And due to his hypertrophic cardiomyopathy worsening, it is causing blood to back up into the left atrium, which has now induced dilated cardiomyopathy. If they were to wait too long to list him for the transplant, he might become too sick too quickly to be eligible for transplant, so that is why he is being listed now to increase the likelihood that he makes it through a transplant.

As of now, Bryson has been admitted, awaiting a Transplant. During this stay at the hospital, Ashley will remain with Bryson while Brandon will have to travel back and forth from Lee County to Gainseville. This puts an extreme strain on the Family. Bryson will stay at the hospital until he receives his new heart or goes home for a month and recheck.
