Bryson's Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
Hi, Everyone! Bryson's maintenance plan for his Acute Myeloid Leukemia has changed a good bit in the last few days. He had some blood work show that his Leukemia may be back, and further testing has now shown that it is, in fact, back. His doctor(s) believe that his next step is a bone marrow or stem cell transplant. While this new path was not anyone's FIRST CHOICE, Bryson and his family are very confident that this will provide him with a new immune system and get this STUPID CANCER out of him FOR GOOD!!! Bryson has QUITE a road ahead of him including at least 2 inpatient chemo treatments with at least one being in Charleston at MUSC, if not both. He will then receive his transplant. He will be hospitalized for that as well. Once he is stable enough to leave the hospital, he will have to stay for at least 2 months in an extended stay hotel within 2 minutes of the hospital. This is a process and he will require someone with him round the clock. This has been set up to help cover the costs of travel for he and his family, missed work for both of his parents to be able to trade off taking care of him, and whatever bills and costs accrue over this unknown time. Bryson has THE MOST POSITIVE attitude, as he always has! He knows this is the next step for him to be fully healed. He is focused on the goal and has really strengthened his faith in God through the past few months. If you know Bryson, you know his energy is contagious and his spirit is like no other! Please keep him and his family in your prayers. They are very positive about everything right now and appreciate you all more than you will ever know!
