Bryson’s Medical Expenses Etc.

Donation protected
My name is Megan crenshaw, mother of now 4 year old Bryson.
January 5, 2023 Our lives changed overnight.m when he was taken to the ER with flu like symptoms. Bryson was diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis, also known as flesh eating disease.Necrotizing fasciitis (NECK-re-tie-zing FASH-e-i-tis) is a rare bacterial infection that spreads quickly in the body and can cause death. Bryson was transferred from Iu Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette Indiana to Riley Childrens Hopsital in Indianapolis. My husband Ben and I both immediately took medical leaves from work in order to be at Bryson’s bedside. Within the first few days Bryson had to undergo multiple surgeries in attempt to stop the progression of the infection and clean out all the damage. After having multiple invasive surgeries including his gastrointestinal track and his right leg and right pelvic/hip area Bryson was still very sick fighting for his life. On January 18, 2023 we made the decision to amputate Bryson’s right leg, in order to save his life. Without knowing how long Bryson would be in the hospital, It was then decided that I would continue to stay on medical leave and at bedside while Ben returned to work while also continuing to care for our oldest son DJ. The Immediate loss of my income while still maintaining our current expenses, travel/hospital stay expenses increasing we found our savings diminishing very quickly. March 1st 2023 Bryson was discharged from Riley Children’s Hospital but due to complications was readmitted March 8th-15th. Currently, Bryson is back home recovering and continuing his intensive physical therapy in hopes to be cleared to be properly fit for a prosthetic soon.
We are now needing to raise money to help with the financial burden we are experiencing. We are currently leasing a 2 story home which we are unable to make the necessary modifications for the property to be more accessible for Bryson’s needs. As you can imagine the continued medical/travel expenses for doctors appt/therapies along with now needing to relocate we are in need of a some helping hands.
We Thank EVERYONE in advance for their donations and prayers as we learn to adjust to our new circumstances. We ask that you continue to share our story and follow #prayersforbrysonellis on facebook for updates on Bryson. We have been blessed to be able to share our story with local and nationwide media outlets and we will continue to do our part in raising awareness for this God awful disease.
