Inactive Bryttn Grace
I do not know that I am the best person to begin this campaign, to write this story or to describe the needs of the family. However, like so many others I feel helpless and have a desire to ease the burdens of this family in any way that I can ... so here's their story from my eyes.
Bryttn Grace currently sits at the beginning of a very long fight against Leukemia. At this point, the long term prognosis is promising; however, the fight to get there will be extremely difficult! The family does not yet know the details about her specific treatment or how long she will have to undergo it. Dave and Diana are still just processing the diagnosis and trying to adjust to the reality of this new journey. There is no way to not be devastated, despite the faith and hope that they have in a loving a merciful God.
Bryttn is the youngest of their 5 children, her spirit has captured their whole hearts. She has a HUGE personality inside her tiny little body. The joy she brings is contagious!
A few weeks ago, Bryttn's parents noticed a decline in her physical endurance; she was tiring easily, she was not able to complete her little dance class that she was taking, etc. They also became aware of an overall ache throughout her body that she frequently complained about. When Bryttn developed a fever, Diana took her to the nearest Urgent Care for evaluation. Not much was done at the Urgnet Care and the findings were inconclusive, the doctor advised to just watch and wait.
At this point, Diana's motherly instincts told her it was something more and she made plans to take her into her family doctor for some blood work to be done. Bryttn's symptoms of fever and pain to the touch throughout her body continued, Diana also noticed that the lymph nodes in her neck had swollen. Blood work was done immediately, at their family doctor. When the family doctor received the results from the blood work he sent them directly to the ER. All of her "normals" were dramatically low.
At the ER, additional blood work was done, xrays were taken and Bryttn was admitted. Speculation of Leukemia was confirmed via a bone marrow test yesterday.
We know she will begin treatment immediatly; however, (again) the extent and the details of that treatment are currently unknown. I'm sure Diana and Dave will receive additional information today and I will update the page as new information is available.
The purpose of this campaign is to show our love and support to the Earlywine's for all of the difficulty that they will face in the future. While they do have health insurance, the financial need will still be tremendous! As I know the details of those needs, I will share them. For now, I know that they need to ensure all insurance premuims are current and paid in full. Additionally, Dave is off work so that he can be at the hospital with Bryttn and Diana. It is no surprise, but Dave and Diana have not left Bryttn's side since she was admitted. Unfortunately, the world does not stop and allow you time to catch your breath, even when your world has just been shattered.
