Help Gourmonade “go for it”.
We've survived a tough year with COVID 19 and lost over 50% of sales. We’ve tried the traditional ways of raising capital but haven't worked out for us so we’re leaning on our Gourmonade fam to help us get to where we need to be.
The Big Opportunity - Opening in STANFORD MALL
We got a small spot at Stanford mall and we are planning to open this June 05th!
To make this a reality to need funding to supply all inventory and staffing needs.
We are beyond excited to be announcing this!
THE Ask : We need to raise $100k by June 1st to make this happen! So we ask that you donate if you can and share with your friends and family.
Other Big Opportunities:
Re-opening Valencia St - Help us reopen our location on Valencia st. We had to close due to COVID, but we are ready to get back on our feet! We need help with staffing the store, producing enough inventory for 2 weeks, and showing we can pay rent for the first few months.
Farmer’s Market Oakland - We have the opportunity to expand our market to the East Bay! Help us staff and expand our presence in the East Bay. We are currently starting small and hoping to open a permanent location soon while creating new jobs!
New flavors + Cold Press - We have a bunch of ideas and new flavors, but we need funding to get a kickstart on our Cold Press production and NEW recipes (over 10+ new flavors!) We are seeking to increase production to have 2 weeks inventory which requires a lot of upfront costs.
Expand our kitchen operations- With expansion into Stanford mall, Oakland Farmers’ market, and re-opening Valencia, we need to get our own kitchen, staff the kitchen, buy equipment to scale our production, prepare enough inventory for all the locations, and buy our first official delivery truck.
The Breakdown
The total amount needed $315,000
- A total of $120K for the Stanford Mall opening on June 1st (MOST URGENT)
The remaining funds will go towards:
- Re-open the Valencia location ($60K)
- Expanding in Oakland ($15k)
- Launch new flavors,
- Launch cold press and keep up with product demand ($60K)
- Expand our kitchen operations ($60K)
Gourmonade’s story
“To create a delicious gourmet lemonade that is both healthy and delicious.”
There aren’t many gourmet lemonade companies around, let alone ones Black-owned and operated. Once I realized that the quality of food and beverage in my local community wasn’t where it should be, I felt compelled to provide a beverage that would enrich mine and those like it.
About Vicktor
When I opened Gourmonade, I knew becoming a successful entrepreneur and business owner in San Francisco was never going to be an easy feat. The San Francisco Mission District is truly a welcoming, diverse place and to have our first brick and mortar shop on Valencia Street is a literal dream come true. After four years of hard work and persistence, nearly quitting a hundred times, and as a new husband and father nonetheless, my dream of running a gourmet lemonade shop had come to fruition.
What I didn’t anticipate was having the police called on me just three days after our grand opening because someone thought I was breaking into my own business, when ironically, I was there that morning to check on the security system.
As I watched the cop car cruise slowly up to my establishment, I was expecting there to be some type of disturbance. I didn’t realize he was there for me until he asked what I was doing there with his hand on his gun.
Though being accused of burglary days after our grand opening was extremely upsetting, it kick-started an unbelievable outpour of support from the San Francisco Bay Area who not only stood for me during a time of unfair accusations, but also continues to stand with me as a Black business owner and the Black community.
I turned a sour situation into a sweet one.
Quite literally lemons into lemonade. Two years later I still wash, slice and hand squeeze lemons fresh each morning and deliver them to Gourmonade’s incredible customers. I love it and feel blessed to continue to share my passion with others. The Gourmonade Fam’s mission is to serve you the best lemonade and brighten your day while spreading positivity, happiness, and love! Shazaam!
Covid hits
Since COVID, Gourmonade had to close its doors on Valencia street and turn to online sales. We lost over 50% of our sales in the last year and maintain to stay open. We are now looking to the future and VERY excited about the new opportunities coming our way.
We cannot do it without your help! Covid has been too hard on us to be able to action all our opportunities. We are excited, ready to go and so thankful for your support!
