Hi my Name is Natalie
Here is my step daughters story
Unfortunately after fighting leukaemia for 4 months l've had to make the tough decision to stop my chemotherapy as nothing seems to be working and giving me anymore could put me in a worse position.
We won't ever know what position I'd be in now if my consultant would have listened to me when I told her my symptoms months before. It took a gp to tell me my symptoms weren't normal and it needed investigating. After seeing my bloods they weren't happy and referred me back to alder hey, my consultant then told me I had blast cells in my blood which were a clear indication of leukemia, but she put it down to low folate and effects from the chemo I had in 2022 and decided to check my bloods every few weeks. In April my bloods had got worse so they decided to do a bone marrow biopsy to see what was wrong, and she told me leukemia was unlikely. The next day they told me I had therapy related aml which was caused by chemo l'd had 2 years before. Unfortunately because l'm not under 16 or over 18 l'm not eligible for any trials on the HS, we are currently looking into alternative treatment outside the NHS.
I am reaching out to everyone in helping us raise funds so we can send Faith to try Cytokine, induced killer cell therapy. Faith it 100% determined to fight this and has a positive attitude in tackling this horrific disease head on.As Faith has just turned 16 in April, the NHS, have nothing else to offer, as a family this makes us very sad.
Any donation big or small would be gratefully received.
wow, in just 24 hours we have reached £5000, thank you to everyone that has donated, Faith is overwhelmed by people’s generosity.
