Tim's Journey to Health
Donation protected
It has recently been brought to our attention that one of our loved ones and his family need our support.
Timothy Lyle and his compassionate wife Krista have come across hard times that require a devastatingly large amount of money to overcome. Our brother Timmy has been fighting a battle with a neurological condition for most of his life. He, his wife, and his family have never asked for assistance through this battle.
Krista and Timmy are motivated individuals that are full of pride. They consistently and simultaneously worked multiple jobs as adults to build wonderful and rewarding lives for themselves and their son Jason. Regrettably, Tim’s condition has progressed over the years and is threatening his overall well-being, along with his family’s prospects.
Similarly, to many of us, the Lyle’s are not the type of people to reach out and ask others for help when they come across tough situations. They buckle down, dig their feet in, and make ends meet. However, there are times in life when no amount of hard work, drive and goodwill is enough to conquer an issue individually. For the Lyle family, this time is now.
While they would not like to ask for help from anyone, they require our support in this time of need. It is up to us to evaluate the situation with a loving heart and identify how we can help. Under these difficult circumstances, as it often does, the help that would make the most beneficial impact for Tim and the Lyle family happens to be financial in nature. If it is possible for you to contribute to Timmy’s medical costs, and help the Lyle family combat these overwhelming issues, the family will be forever grateful.
We understand that times are tough for all, and money is tight. There isn’t a family among us that couldn’t benefit from others’ assistance. Unfortunately, the obstacles that the Lyle family are presently facing are debilitating and threaten Timmy’s health.
Tim has always taken care of those in his life, even before himself. His love and friendship are felt by all of those who have the pleasure of knowing him. Let’s support him and his family in any way we can, both emotionally, and if possible, monetarily.
If you have finances that you can spare, please donate to his cause. 100% of proceeds will go to the Lyle family, in efforts to pay Tim’s medical bills and support their daily needs such as food and housing. Whether it is feasible for you and your family to donate to Tim, or not, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
This writing explains only a portion of how we can aid the Lyle family, but it does not describe the nature of their hardships. Please take a moment to read the following passage written by Timmy’s Wife Krista. It describes what they are currently experiencing in their lives in such a way that only the Lyle family would know.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our dear friend and family member Tim.
“Cross all your fingers and toes, send out all the good vibes, prayers and wishes. We need all the luck we can get. We've got an intense road ahead of us and the stress is at an all-time high. (And if you know of any side gigs we can take on, hit me up!)
If you're so inclined to read the novella about what we're up against, here's the whole frustrating saga:
Tim's neurological condition that causes seizures and other neuro events stems from a lack of protein in his blood that causes irregular clotting. This lack of protein paired with years and years of blood thinners has done a number on his oral health. Despite doing everything he should, his teeth just can't maintain strength and it's been rapidly getting worse. His neuro incidents and lapses of lost time have been escalating and his neurologist agrees that the oral infections could be a contributing factor as it can go right to the brain, so he's set for major oral surgery tomorrow. Because of his condition and the risks (although rare) surrounding anesthesia, they need to do it in a hospital OR as opposed to the clinic which incurs a major cost difference.
We are currently waiting on a call from Tim's doc to tell us his INR reading from yesterday is at the magic number needed for his surgery to even happen tomorrow.
If it is, the plan is for him to have 18 teeth removed and 4 implants placed tomorrow morning. However, if they get in there and the infection is too bad to allow implant placement, they need to do bone grafting instead and do a second procedure for implants after 3-4 months of healing.
Even with two dental insurances, we had to pay just under $17K out of pocket for the surgery. The medical insurance acknowledges that this surgery is medically necessary, and they are stating that they will help cover a portion, but being that it's a dental procedure, they do this as a reimbursement as opposed to paying up front. The surgeons office told me not to hold my breath as they have seen this insurance back out many times.
If they can't do the implants tomorrow and need to do bone grafting and implants later, we will need to come up with $4K more ahead of that second surgery. This on top of the 750 more we owe in 2 weeks for his interim partials, and then the estimated $3,500 for his permanent partials in February.
We drained every single penny we have to cover tomorrow's procedure, including our retirements. And of course Christmas is here and the car needs tires. When it rains it pours. I am going to fight the medical insurance tooth and nail to hold to their word and pay up. I am fully prepared to joust a corporate bigwig in the town square if I have to.
So yeah, if you have or know of any side gigs we can do, hit us up - cleaning, snow removal, petsitting, dogwalking, whatever. Or if you have a lead on a good part time WFH job, let me know. We are gonna be in full on HUSTLE mode these next few months.
I'm manifesting all the positive energy out into the universe that I possibly can that:
1. His INR is where it needs to be.
2. They are able to do the full procedure tomorrow.
3. The medical insurance pays out so we can actually afford the rest of the out-of-pocket expenses coming up.
4. Most importantly, everything goes smoothly and his recovery is painless.
Cross your fingers for us!”
