Dear Friends and Community,

We are reaching out to you for support as we navigate the post-kidney transplant process. Our family has been on a long and difficult journey for the past 18 years, searching for a kidney match for our father who has end-stage renal failure. Our mother was a perfect match in 1998 and donated her kidney, but unfortunately, the rare disease MPGN attacked the kidney, leaving our father in dire need of another transplant.

Despite many family and friends testing to find a match, we were unable to find a suitable donor. The waiting was agonizing, and we never gave up hope. Tragically, the same week that we lost our grandfather, we received the call we had been waiting for - a kidney was available in NYC, and it was a perfect match for our father.

The surgery was successful, and we are grateful for this second chance at life. However, the road to recovery is long and challenging. Our father is currently in the hospital in New York, and our family is staying close to him to support him in his healing process. From what we know at the moment this process looks like it will be over a month long.

We are reaching out to our community for support during this difficult time. Any contribution you can make will go a long way in helping us cover the expenses associated with the transplant and recovery process. More than anything, your support means the world to us and will help us focus on what's most important - our father's healing and recovery.
