Ms. Crain's 8th Grade News Magazine
Donation protected
The voices of my students matter. With their voice, they can express their ideas, reflect on the world, and speak out against injustices.
As a language arts teacher, I am asking for your help to raise funds to print copies of a student news magazine, so that the 8th grade students at Premier Charter School can investigate, comment, and report on the news in their community that matters to them.
In our classroom students will be learning the ins and outs of journalism, and each class will design their own news magazine. Everything will be student-driven and student-led. From the title of the magazine and the content of their articles, to the design on the cover, students will have creative control and ownership of this project.
After all of this hard work, I want to give my students an opportunity to have real-world audiences read their writing. This is where publishing and printing become so important. I want my students to experience having their work published, to hold a copy in their hands, and to witness other members of the school walking around, reading their voices. With your help, I can make that a reality for my students.
Thank you!
