Roberts Family

Hi everyone! It’s Tiffany Roberts fundraising on behalf of our family! As most of you know, Dave and I are raising 8 beautiful children! He is our sole source of income as I have had the pleasure of being a stay at home mom since 2010!

August 4, 2023 started as any other day for our family, which quickly lead to a very big change in life for our family! Friday evening around 10:30, Dave lit a firework which for whatever reason exploded immediately in his right hand.. 911 responded immediately where he was taken to Conemaugh Hospital, and then immediately lifeflighted to Allegheny General in Pittsburgh.

He went into surgery at 7:30 this morning for about a 4 hour surgery. They cleaned the debris out. He is missing 3/4 of his thumb, all distals of the rest of the 4 fingers, and keeping eye on his pinky / ring finger as it suffered loss of blood flow. They are watching for infection and more loss of blood flow to those 2 fingers which would require complete amputation. He has several broken bones in the same hand and lots of soft tissue damage. Also, stitches to his eyebrow. Plastics will be in to evaluate his left and right hands again. He is also having issues with his eyes and possibly his hearing. Also, waiting to have his CT scans read as well.

Dave will be out of work for several months leaving myself to take care of our 8 children, household maintenance, and caring for my husband full time including any appointments or future surgeries he may need.

We feel awful having to ask for help but his medical bills are going to pile up, travel to appointments, and just trying to keep our family afloat during this difficult time. I honestly haven’t had much time to process this entire situation as our lives will change forever!
