Help our community finish building a high school in our village in Sierra Leone, West Africa, so our children can further their education!

Opportunity for Education (Background)
Bubuya Senior Secondary School, located in Tonko Limba Chiefdom, Kambia District, Sierra Leone, West Africa, opened in 2018 with 17 students who were determined to continue their education to the high school level even though they didn't have a building. Up until that time, attending high school meant you would have to walk 10 miles every day to and from the nearest town with a secondary school, leading many students to drop out after grade 8. Thanks to the support of the school's staff and community, today, there's over 100 students that attend our school and at the senior level and have the opportunity to further their education.

Needing More Space to Learn
The problem we face now is that we've physically outgrown our school! As more students take advantage of pursuing education, our current classrooms have become overcrowded and no longer contribute to conducive learning environments. Often times, we've had to push multiple classes into one room for lack of space, and we've constructed makeshift buildings out of bamboo and palm leaves to use for overflow learning. In response to this, we are constructing a new school building and we need your help to finish!

Although we have begun construction using local materials and funds from both our school budget and contributions from Bubuya community members, we need your help to finish this project. So far, we've built the foundation and walls using mud bricks but we need more resources like concrete and iron rods, and metal roofing to build a stable structure. All of the expenses to finish the project will cost roughly $3500 - will you help us?
