From rural Nicaragua to Higher Educ

“It is small contributions that helps us get through, and no one gets through life alone”
I was raised by my grandparents in a small rural community in Nicaragua during war time and tough time in our little village. Who would have thought that the little kid that read out lout at nights with an oil lamp will be the first graduated college student of the family?
I graduated from computers engineering years after I discovered the expansive possibilities that existed when I took my first computer class in senior years of highschool. 12 years ago I started working volunteering with international groups and hosting volunteers, translating and leading groups of volunteers and donors. Through the participation in this social ventures and a cultural exchange in to the U.S ten years ago a dream to further my education grew in my mind.
My dream is to get accepted in to a U.S University and study an MBA with a concentration in Busines Analytics and Information Technology. Although I am capable to comprehend English, read, write and speak, for university requirements that is not enough. They require TOEFL and GRE exams. I plan on applying for next fall 2017, that means that School application start withing the next three months and application for college cost between $75 to $200 depending on the school and how many I am applying to.
My needs to get to this are the following:
Study courses on GRE Prep : $ 2000
GRE Exam: $205
TOEFL Exam:$190
Airfare to Travel to Blacksburg VA $ 900
Temp Living Expenses $ 1200
Total Cost : 4,495.00
I work hard to make a living and pay my own accommodations in Managua Nicaragua and with a job of $2.80/hour working 50 hours a week is hard for me to pay a tuition to get prepared for GRE and TOEFL and get high scores. I have been studying and preparing for a few months but still feel like need professional help and tuitions to be able to take these exams and this is available in the U.S.
I read so many good stories about fundraising and countless time where people graciously have help others achieve their dreams and I want to give it a shot and try this social experiment first before I see my dream slip away.
Anything helps and little by little one goes in life, one step at a time, but not alone.
Thank you so much for your support!
