Buch Spieler Records Flood Relief
Donation protected
If you’re reading this, you probably know that Montpelier, Vermont is hurting now. On July 11, Montpelier suffered one of the most catastrophic floods in its history. This vibrant downtown full of local businesses weaves through the fabric of the community, and is beloved by Montpelierites and visitors alike. This GoFundMe page is specifically for Buch Spieler Records, but we will link out to other Montpelier fundraising efforts as the town begins to assess and recover from this disaster, and hope you will support as many of the recovery efforts as you are able. Thank you! As so many of you know, Buch Spieler Records is the kind of record shop where everybody (ok Knayte and Xav) know(s) your name. If you walk into the shop, Knayte and/or Xav will either direct you to more of the music you already love, or introduce you to something unbelievable you’ve never heard before. Buch Spieler has been offering up this musical magic on Montpelier’s Langdon Street for 50 years, but with this terrible flood, they are facing enormous losses that could shutter the business. Buch Spieler’s needs are still becoming apparent as the waters recede, but it is already clear it will take enormous money and effort to recover from this disaster and to bring the record store back (either in its current location or elsewhere). This initial request will pay for outstanding orders and some lost inventory, but it will only begin the process of rebuilding, which we are still estimating. Your donation will give Knayte and Xav a way to recover from this disaster, and, we hope, to rebuild.
Update: Montpelier Alive has created a donation page that benefits all downtown businesses! If you want to help more local businesses, please donate here!
