Bucket List walk to raise money for charity
Donation protected

Hi All, as some are aware I am fighting a Liver Disease that has made me extremely poorly, and without a transplant will take my life.
The waiting list for transplants are long and sadly not always successful.
I have always enjoyed walking and being active but due to my declining health now have to walk with a stick.
I made a list of things that I wanted to ‘give back’ and to make my children proud. One of these was to walk with one of my best friends across the ‘London Bridges’.
A few years ago we completed a walk for charity from Thamesmead to the London Eye (southbank) and it was so much fun!! While my health may be declining and while it will probably take me all day, myself and my friend Stephen Watson will do a 10K walk starting at Chelsea Bridge and zig zagging all bridges to end our walk at the end of Tower Bridge. We will be completing this challenge on Tuesday the 10th September 24.
We are hoping to be raising vital funds for the British Liver Trust who work tirelessly to support people like me with Liver Disease. They are continuously researching and trying to find ways that Liver Disease can be treated, prevented, or cured.
Sadly there is no cure or medications for most Liver Diseases, and like mine most are found/symptomatic when it’s too late and the damage is irreversible.
Times are tough for us all, but we are tougher. While I’m selfishly going to try to complete something to make my children and myself proud with one of my best friends, I also would love to raise some funds to give back, so that one day a person like me doesn’t have to go through what I am now and how hard each day is.
It will be hard for me and no doubt there will be plenty of rest stops, but I am determined that while I can my illness won’t define me. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read, and a massive thank you if you have donated.
Love Wendy xx
