Bucks Buoys Trans-Atlantic Row Campaign Costs
Donation protected
On 12th December 2019, Bucks Buoys will take on the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge - The World's Toughest Row - rowing unaided 3000 miles across the Atlantic from the Canaries to the Caribbean!
The Team is raising money for 2 charities (Macmillan and IN-vision), but this fundraising is separate from the charity fundraising and is directly appealing for Campaign funds. The Team has been self-funded so far, but rowing the Atlantic is a very expensive undertaking, and it would be fantastic if the Buoys could get some help with funding the costs of the campaign.
Costs include:
The Boat £80,000
Race Entry Fees £22,000
Boat Equipment £ 5,500
Shipping costs – UK to La Gomera and Antigua to UK £10,000
RYI compulsory Sea going courses £ 3600
Food for the crossing £ 7000
Waterproof clothing, life vests etc £4200
Oars – 2 pairs @ £600 per pair £1200
2 x Satellite phones @ £500 each £1000
Any help with meeting these costs will be fantastic - donors will be able to follow Bucks Buoys' progress and live the excitement vicariously through them! For a taste of what the Team will face during their epic voyage, click on the links to the Race Summaries from the last 2 years.
