Buck’s tie-back surgery

UPDATE: Buck has surgery scheduled for June 13th. We decided to go to another clinic for a second opinion, and I’m glad we did. Not only is the quote less expensive, but we gained a lot of insight into what is going on in Buck’s body and learned strategies for managing Buck’s symptoms to set him up for the best possible outcome after his surgery. I’m also really happy with the experience at the clinic he is going to and I feel confident he will be in the best hands!
Hello, after losing our 13 year old American bulldog before Xmas last year, we adopted Buck, a hound mix, from a rescue at 4 months old to help with our family’s grief. Buck had no known health issues when we adopted him and he is a sweet boy who loves everyone he meets- people and dogs. We started to notice some unusual symptoms and after 2 episodes of aspiration pneumonia, Buck was referred to a specialist and diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis and polyneuropathy. This is a serious disease and without surgery Buck’s breathing issues will continue to worsen. This has been a huge financial burden on our family costing upwards of $10,000 since we got Buck in January 2022. Buck needs a surgery to help his breathing, which must be done by a specialist, and they’ve quoted us more than $8000 for the surgery. This is more than my family can afford at this time, but we really want to give Buck the best chance of a quality life. Please consider helping us save Buck. He has 3 kids who love him very much. They’ve written to Santa asking for help. Thanks very much for your kindness and support!
