Bucky Youngblood (Our Dad)

Hi everyone, my siblings and I are doing this GoFundMe fundraiser for our wonderful father (Alfred Youngblood) aka Buck, Bucky, Al, Dad, and Pa. Our father unexpectedly had a tragic accident on a ladder, on June 28, 2022. This event caused him to have a serious spinal injury. After being flown to Westchester by helicopter, he went through a 6 hour critical surgery on his cervical spine, as well as the rest of his spine. He is currently experiencing paralysis in both arms and hands, which is his biggest obstacle right now. He is able to move both legs and feet, thankfully. The left leg he can move quite a bit more than the right. They believe he suffered a stroke as well from the fall, causing right sided weakness, some slurred speech, and difficult chewing. He is currently at Helen Hayes getting intense OT and PT right now. My dad is working very hard in therapy, but he is also in severe pain every day. We are praying for a miracle for our dad and we are hopeful that he will regain some mobility back. It’s going to be a very long road for our dad, but time and rehab will help heal him. He is so thankful for everyone that has reached out to him during this difficult time. Dad misses his job and all of the people at Garnet hospital. This man truly has a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone, so we are asking for a little help during this difficult time. Our hearts are truly broken right now and we are hoping he can come home soon and be with his family. Any amount of donation we truly appreciate, but the most important thing right now is all of the prayers, love, and support. Thank you so much.
