Operation Graduation

Hi Everyone,

First and foremost, thank you for visiting this page! I would like to tell you a little bit about my uncle Bucky.

He is the most generous and whole hearted person I know. He has raised his two kids pretty much on his own and it has been his greatest accomplishment to see them accomplish their dreams. Matthew who is 24, has brought him his beautiful granddaughter Addy who is now around 8 months old and nicknamed "Chunk" with love. He looks like a gentle giant when handling her and his love for her is overwhelmingly the most beautiful thing you will ever see. Nicole, his 23 year old daughter has worked diligently to earn a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Widener University!! She has done distance learning in Honduras to help teach children how to read and write English. She has been involved with multiple fundraisers and advocates for many causes, the most recent being domestic abuse. All the while, Bucky worked seven days a week to pay tuition out of his own pocket and provide a roof over their heads and food for their bellies.

Now Nicole has one final exam to finish and $6,500.00 to pay before they allow her to graduate and give her the degree that she has worked to hard for and will allow her to pursue a career in law and be successful in life. Her dad, Bucky made this his mission. He would love more than anything to see her graduate, hold her, and tell her how proud he is! Bucky is close with both of his children and could easily be both of there best friends.

Recently, Saturday May 2, the day after Nicole's 23rd birthday, Bucky was in a motorcycle accident. He was on his way to his nephew's bachelor party since he is one of his groomsmen for the wedding set up later this month. Bucky has always been a family man, with Southern roots, and humble heart. He would give the shirt off his back and the heart out of his chest so you didn't have to feel pain.

I wish this story had a happy ending.

Bucky broke his neck and suffered a spinal cord injury. He endured many other injuries as well and undergone numerous surgeries to stabilize him.

Unfortunately we have received word that Bucky will be paralyzed from the neck down, technically quadriplegic. He has always worked with his hands, fixing cars and trucks and just getting his hands dirty seemed to be his thrill and what he was happiest doing! His hands always covered in oil and dirt and bald head shining in the sun, with a joke on the tip on his tongue.

Ever break something and wonder if duct tape or super glue would work to patch it up? Bucky is our family's glue! He holds us together and has always loved fully and without a doubt. He loved like Jesus, with all of our imperfections.. he loved us and endearingly gave us all nicknames to ensure we knew it!

He is simple, only requiring little to get by and stubborn enough to never ask for help.

I am here to ask for prayers! I know God can work miracles and if you know a prayer warrior, please ask them to keep Roger "Bucky" Queen in their prayers. As many lips we can get to God's ears, the better! He is still in very critical condition and needs to know there are people out there to hold him up and that we can take care of things while he heals up!

I have no shame asking for this help. I need to personally see this gets done and that means I need help! I know Bucky has some of the best supporters out there who have lost sleep, been by his bedside, have taken care of his kids and are putting together beef and beers and poker runs to benefit the family so they can take care of things for their father and in his absence.

I love you all and I thank you for the endless support you offer. Also, please help as much as you can, for as long as you can. It can be small or large donations or simply prayers. We grateful for you taking the time to look at our page and hope you are inspired to make the difference in seeing Bucky's dream come to life. Also, we need to encourage Nicole to walk in graduation and record it so her Daddy can see!!

Thank you for your kindness.
Thank you for your care.
Thank you for having a heart.
Thank you for being there.

XOXO
"Chubby Girl"-Jamie Leigh
