Cancer sucks! A benefit for Bud Pfenninger &family

Donation protected
In April, 2022 Bud Pfenninger and his family’s world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Since his diagnosis over a year ago, Bud has been unable to work and has limited insurance to cover the medical bills piling up.

Since diagnosis, Bud has had half of his lung removed, endured multiple rounds of chemo and radiation, countless hospital stays, and a major surgery for a perforated bowel that landed him in the ICU for several days, and put his cancer treatment on hold for 8 weeks. Those 8 weeks were the scariest and most stressful days of Bud and his family’s lives.

But – if I know anything about Bud – he looks on the bright side and wouldn’t want us to focus on all the bad stuff.

So who is Bud? He’s an awesome dude! Bud is a family man with a strong wife, Shari, who hasn’t left his side since day 1. He has a great family with 5 adult kids, 10 grandkids and his hanai (Hawaiian, meaning informally adopted) family in Hawaii. Bud is loved dearly by each of us for his positive, happy-go-lucky attitude, dad jokes, and so much more!

Bud’s also a community guy – he was a volunteer for the Town of Randall Volunteer Fire Department in Wisconsin since 1984 – 39 years of his life dedicated to serving others! Of those years, he moved up the ladder to the Station Battalion Chief for the last 10+ years. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to work since diagnosis, but his heart is still in the department!

His wife and (adult) kids asked me to include a note of their gratitude for all the outpouring love and support to them during this time. It has been so beautiful to see everyone rally around Bud, show up for visits, and show so much love to their family. They appreciate all your support in donating to help offset Bud not being able to work, the significant medical bills they’ve already received and are yet to come, and any other expenses that will inevitably come up.

Thank you for your support, it means the world to his family!
