Donation protected
UPDATE:  We thank all for your generous donations for the Buffalo mass shooting victims and survivors. We have now closed our GoFundMe for Buffalo and will transfer every penny we collected here and all we collected at VictimsFirst for Buffalo into the Buffalo 5/14 Survivors Fund administered by the National Compassion Fund.

If you want to donate, please do here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/buffalo-survivors-fund?qid=2714119248aaafa730740a1141aaa785

All funds collected will go -- 100% -- to the Buffalo victims and Survivors of the Tops shooting. Thank you all for your kind hearts. We appreciate you.

From All of Us at VictimsFirst
-------------------------------------------

100% of what we collect will go Directly to the families of the mass shooting/hate crime that took place in Buffalo, NY at Tops grocery store today, May 14, 2022. Our mass shooting families across the nation are devastated that families from yet another mass shooting have now joined us all in grief and are now on the path to learning how to navigate what will become a new way of thinking, feeling and living.

Our hearts are with the families whose loved ones' lives were stolen by hate today and those who were wounded. If you are a family member and need to know of some of the resources available to you, please see: https://www.victimsfirst.org/services
Remember that your victims' advocates can help you navigate through the paperwork.

In addition, mental health crisis counselors will be available for in-person crisis counseling Sunday, May 15 and Monday, May 16 from 9a-9p at
Johnnie B. Wiley Pavilion
1100 Jefferson Ave
Buffalo NY 14208
They are open 24/7 if anyone needs help: (716) [phone redacted] or please contact the National Suicide Hotline at: 1-800-273-8255

VictimsFirst (our network of mass shooting families) are now collecting donations in order to make sure the victims’ families and those wounded/injured receive the funds Directly and to protect them from fraud and exploitation. Our families have been re-victimized in the past by non-profits that collect funds for themselves after a mass shooting saying they will “support” the families which is usually the verbiage used when donations do not go directly to the victim base itself.

We vowed this would never happen again, so families of the deceased from the Columbine, VaTech, Northern Illinois University, the Aurora theater shooting, the Oak Creek Sikh Temple shooting, and Newtown (Sandy Hook) joined together to help establish the National Compassion Fund with the National Center of Victims of Crime. Since then, families from across the nation from other mass shootings including Tucson, Vegas, Alturas, Santa Barbara (Isla Vista), Roseburg, and Orlando Pulse, Boulder and others have endorsed the National Compassion Fund.

The National Compassion Fund has so far distributed funds directly to survivors of 19 mass casualty crimes, including the Kroger grocery store shooting in Collierville, TN; the Oxford, MI high school shooting, the FedEx facility shooting in Indianapolis, the Spa Shootings in Atlanta, the Stop and Shop shooting in West Hempstead, NY, the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando; the Las Vegas Harvest Festival Shooting; the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, FL; the Walmart shooting in El Paso, TX and many more.

Victims First is compromised of the same families who have advocated for many years that donations collected for victims actually go DIRECTLY to victims in cash payments. The funds collected will go to the families in cash payments with no strings attached, thereby fulfilling the full intent of the donors (you).

Depending on how the City of Buffalo decides to proceed, we will either join forces with them, with the National Compassion Fund or distribute directly ourselves as long as the donations collected go DIRECTLY to victims.

Please join with our families across the nation to help our new, unfortunate family of the May 14, 2022 shooting in New York. They need you now.
