Build a bridge in a rural district in Zimbabwe
Donation protected
A bridge is needed to be built in Murewa Rural District in Zimbabwe.
WHAT
We want to help construct a bridge between all of the aforementioned villages and the wider context of North East Zimbabwe including the capital city Harare. The bridge was approved officially by nine village heads, Councillor Francesca Rungano, Chief Mangwende, Member of Parliament Mr Severe, Civil Engineer Mr Sithole, Murehwa District Administrator and Murehwa chief executive officer Mr Mudautsi.
WHY
We have a number of tragedies which have happened in the past due to lack of a bridge and we aim to prevent any such occurrences again.
Mr Tafirenyika from Gaura village who had a child by the name Chipo who is in year three found it difficult to send his child to school during the rain season. When the river floods his daughter Chipo and other children tend to miss out school throughout the rain season this affects her education and he has to pay school fees for the term Chipo did not attend school. Mr Tafirenyika is greatly welcoming the building of the bridge as his daughter will cross the river safely and will not miss out school during the rain season.
Other people who could not be named also fell victim to the lack of a safe bridge, resulting in cases such as the following;
a) A villager who was pregnant was not able to cross the flooded river to give birth at Musami. She gave birth to twins who sadly passed away due to lack of medical attention.
b) There have been incidents of a number of villagers who had been washed away and drowned while trying to cross the flooded river.
c) A primary school student drowned trying to cross the flooded river while on the way to school
Villages like Gaura, Masaraure, Zhakata, Mavhunga, Zuva and Takawira desparately need to access services across the river such as Zengenene Secondary and Primary School, Dombotsvuku Secondary and Primary School, Dombotsvuku Clinic and Musami Hospital.
WHEN
The predicted time to finish construction if all the material are sourced will be before the rain season in November. Therefore this money needs to be raised as soon as possible.
I would be very grateful for the help that you provide as this would be helping 9 villages in the Murewa Rural District gain access to all of these facilities.
