Build a home, fix it up for children at risk

Tax deductible
SOS International-Israel hosts children and youth at risk in the Migdal HaEmek, a town in the north of Israel. The Megadim Youth Village contains six family units where at-risk youth stay, typically after a court-appointed order to remove them from their homes.

The buildings need repair, and the management of SOS-International at Megadim Children's Village requested that we assist with renovating one such building.

Of specific needs are the floors and the kitchen, which have experienced wear and tear and have been temporarily repairing and are now in need of a permanent replacement:

Serene Harbor Foundation's mission is to support the needs of at-risk children and youth in Israel. The organization qualifies as charitable under IRS code 509(a)(2). Donations are qualified for tax deductions.

Your action is impactful!
Please help SOS International-Israel's Megadim Children Village repair one of their homes for the youth in their care. Your capital investment in this project is long-lasting, and the impact on children's lives is substantial.

More about Megadim Children's village
The organization takes in youth from all life paths in Israel; Jewish, Christian, Muslim, refugees, and mixed-background children are received and accepted with love. The Megadim children's village is what a pluralistic Israel is all about: diverse, loving, and welcoming.

The organization's operational expenses is paid for about 80% by the Israeli government, but all capital expenditures and the remaining operating costs are paid for only by donations. The organization is run by six professional "house mothers" who care for the children at their respective homes and two dozen volunteers. A therapeutic team, educational team, and other management handle direct services to the children. The children attend local schools, and if conditions allow, they visit their families every other week (in some situations, the court orders protective custody, so children remain on the village premises).
