Transform the lives of many families

My name is Martina Ponce and I graduated from high school in the American School of Quito, Ecuador. I need your help to transform the lives of many mothers and their families that are homeless in one of the most impoverished regions of Ecuador.
With a bit of shame and guilt, I had never appreciated the house me and my family were lucky to have, until the pandemic hit. We spent so much time at home and it was a blessing to be there with all the safety it provided during difficult times. At the same time, during the time in lockdown, I became aware of the harsh reality that many many people in my country endure. Thousands do not have a home and live in unimaginable conditions of poverty. I want to do something, my little grain of salt to change this cruel reality.
I learned about the work of Fundacion CAEMBA www.caemba.com as they do an amazing job in helping really poor people and providing them with their first home and for this I have set myself an objective to raise funds to build 3 houses, in my name and my siblings in order to benefit 3 families that have literally nothing. They live in th every poor community of Cojimies-Manabi and they lost everything in the earthquake that hit in 2016.
Building each house costs US$4,300 and this house can really change the lives of these families.
All funds raised through this Go Fund Me initiative will go directly to Fundacion CAEMBA, an amazing non-for-profit charity that in the past 5 years has built over 370 homes for people living in the most unthinkable conditions. They are angels that care for the community like no other organization we know.
The first house is for Carmen Adelaida Rosales, who is a single mother supporting 6 kids, aged 2, 6, 10, 12, 17 and 18. They share a space of less than 400 sq ft, with conditions like the ones you see in the picture below:
The second house would be for Jennifer Dominga Herrera, who has 2 little girls aged 8 and 5, and is 6 months pregnant with her 3rd daughter. She is a single mother. Her house is made of plastic, sticks, has no electricity or water. Kitchen pictured below.
The third house would be for Betty Margarita Delgado Jamaica, she is 62 and suffered a stroke last year. Since she lost her house in the Earthquake that hit Ecuador in 2016 she lives in a tent
At the end of the fund raiser my family and I will be personally helping the volunteers of CAEMBA, to build these homes that have concrete foundations, durable structures made of bamboo, inside divisions, electricity, running water, etc. To some, they might not look much, but these houses will provide years of living in humane conditions so that these families can start rebuilding their lives with the certainty that they have a place to raise their kids with dignity and safety.

In name of Juliana, Jose Xavier, and myself, I am grateful for considering this initiative and helping me to follow a dream, this is to try to make a change in the lives of these mothers and their kids who have so little and have suffered so much.
I am hoping to pursue a career in college that will allow me to have a greater impact in my future and continue with what is starting now: transforming lives with hard work and through the help and generosity of many.
