WATER PROJECT for Wyce School Gambia

WOW we can't believe we've achieved our original target, exceeding our expectations. A massive thankyou from all the team. After speaking with the community in medina, we have decided to stretch our original target and help renovate the village market. This will help the all community. I've added some pictures of the current market conditions. UPDATE....... WATER PROJET HAS STARTED THIS WEEK WITH THE BORE HOLE DRILLING STARTED ( SEE ATTCHAED PICTURES) Hello all, we are back, its been nearly 5 years since we last visited our friends in Gambia. But with Covid, along with family and work commitments, its been a challenge. So we are delighted to be making a return journey in February 2025, with some new challenges and team members to help the local community. Some of the original team including Matt, Paul and the two Steve's are making the journey, along with new volunteers Lucy, Emmet and Marcos. Firstly can I thank everyone who has donated previously, but we need your help again. Wyce is a charity that supports a school and health clinic in Medina Salem, a rural village in The Gambia. The charity supports the community with schooling for nearly 1000 pupils and an health clinic, without the support of donations these facilities would not exist. Our team has supported Wyce over the past ten years, volunteering in the community ,donating bikes and sponsoring cycle mechanics in Medina Salem. After assessing the means of the community, we have decided to help fund and build a much needed water supply to the school. It will cost approximately 4000 euro to bore a water well, to provide a clean permanent water supply to the school and health clinic. This will further enrich the quality of the students lives. In addition to this we also hope to build a permanent waiting area for the health care clinic, expanding the current facility giving protection from the sun . Every donation will help reach our goal, all monies will go directly to the charity for these two ventures.
