Build a Technology Center in Haiti
Donation protected
A little bit about myself. I'll be 27 soon and I'm currently a cyber security specialist. During my master's program I was told a fact that changed the way I viewed the world. There is a digital divide and children and young adults who don't have access to technology are more likely to remain in poverty into adulthood. I've been working really hard to retire by 55 so I could build a technology center for Haitians yet I stopped in my tracks the other day and realized, why am I waiting so long when the poverty is happening right now? Haiti is the poorest country in the northern hemisphere and if they had the tools in technology, they could work for any company in the world.
I sincerely ask for your help in this. Whether it's a cash donation or a piece of technology, this will help. I'm starting from the bottom as well. I have barely any connections that can help me with funding and I'm willing to use my own money but I would like to make a bigger impact with this. If anyone has a connection with a tech firm or a tech supplier who would like to support, please have them reach out.
Currently the fast speed for internet is $200-300 a month because of the lack of infrastructure they have. I'm also looking to purchase a few laptops and software licenses. The types of programs that would be important for them to learn are to code, learn networking, and cyber security. I have a background in all three areas. I would also need to rent out a small space and provide income to 2 instructors.
I also have a dear friend Wendy B. who lives in Haiti and works with the youth. He is helping me with this and I appreciate him greatly.
