Did you know that British universities are advancing the war machine? Not only does this violate international human rights law, but it also contributes to the killing of innocent civilians.

In the wake of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, students and staff across the globe have been working tirelessly to end university complicity in war and genocide by asking their institutions to cease partnerships with arms companies.

In the UK, Universities such as York and KCL already amended policies to exclude arms companies due to student and staff pressure.

However, to create the momentum needed to see nationwide arms exclusion across British higher education your help is vital.

Hi, my name is Jinsella, and I am the Co-Founder and CEO of Demilitarise Education, a small nonprofit fighting to uncover, expose, and end university partnerships with the military and defence sector. We are the only organisation in the world dedicated to creating a future where education is free from the arms trade.

UK universities are complicit in the destruction of innocent lives, partnering with arms companies whose technologies fuel war crimes and devastate families and communities in places like Gaza, Yemen, Sudan, and Ukraine. While lives are torn apart, arms companies profit, and universities look the other way.

This isn’t just a moral failure, it’s a betrayal of the principles of education: dignity, compassion, and justice. All of which are essential to securing a liveable future for all.

Universities must stop funding and enabling the war machine. To achieve this we urgently need you to join the thousands of people worldwide who are demanding that universities uphold humanitarian ethics and international law.

The creation of a comprehensive report showcasing Universities and Arms Database findings which will rank UK Universities for their complicity in war. This is a crucial step in demanding UK Universities to achieve transparency, divestment, and a shift in their investment and research capacity towards peaceful and renewable sectors.

By 2026, we aim to be in negotiations with at least six universities, working towards their long-term commitment to peace through the dED Treaty.
