Help Build a Waldorf School

What started as a seed of a vision to bring a Waldorf school to Raleigh has sprouted and now we need the ground to set our roots!

Founded in 2020 by Dr. Lucy Chartier and her daughter Lydia Johnson, Raleigh Day School employs certified and experienced Waldorf teachers who bring a traditional Waldorf curriculum to our Early Childhood and Grades programs. This year we have also added specials teachers for music, handwork and language arts.

The goals of Waldorf education are to provide an unhurried and creative environment where children can find the joy in learning while experiencing the richness of childhood; and to provide equal attention to the physical, emotional, intellectual, cultural and spiritual needs of each student.

As we’ve entered our 4th year, we are very quickly outgrowing our current space and are excited to take the initial steps to build our own campus! A larger, dedicated campus would allow us to offer the beauty of a Waldorf education to even more families in the rapidly growing Triangle area.

Recognition

In 2022 Raleigh Day School was recognized as an Associate Member of WECAN. This is the first step toward our goal of becoming an accredited Waldorf school and full member of AWSNA. Our faculty and administrative leaders are committed to this process which includes self-study, peer review, observation, interviews and reports.
