Help Us Build Byron's In Pomeroy

We are Friends of Byron, a committee organized to support Byron Stuart, the owner of Byron’s Bar – “The hipness center of the universe,” as musician Bruce Katz (Allman Brothers Band) puts it. Byron’s is in Pomeroy, Iowa, population 500. The bar provides a magical, loving environment where musicians from all over the world come to perform. It’s filled every Sunday late afternoon with rapt music fans that come to experience musical nirvana.

Unfortunately, Byron’s building is being shut down by the city of Pomeroy. The structure was built in 1896 and is beyond repair. The city is going to tear it down, and they have notified us that it will be done soon.

Friends of Byron has committed to raise the funds to rebuild Byrons in a new location in Pomeroy. The location has been identified, a contractor has been hired and we have already raised nearly half of what is needed to begin the project which will be completed this summer.

Will you help us? Our goal is to raise at least $100,000 more dollars. All proceeds go to rebuilding Byron’s.
