Hello, we are Zo and Alicia Gonzalez. Together, we own Homies Coffee House.

At Homies Coffee House, we are more than a coffee shop in your local neighborhood; we’re a small family business with a mission. Founded right here in Tacoma, inspired by our Latino roots with a desire to create an authentic West coast coffee experience. We believe in real community; a community that is generous, diverse in culture and relentlessly authentic.

We entered the coffee business without any expectation of this becoming our passion but my wife and I realized that coffee can be so much more. Coffee has the ability to unite people from all walks of life; over a business meeting, first date or if you’re just chillin’ with the homies.

We got a glimpse into a future where coffee could connect people who are diverse in culture, appearance and in thought. Real community. La Familia.

Community is the heart and soul of everything we do. We want to create a common space that offers something for everyone. To serve a community is to serve the dreams, passions, hurts and hopes of the people within it. It all has a place at the Homies Coffee House.

We are committed to giving back to our neighborhoods, our youth and our homies who have been impacted by the justice system. We believe these groups of individuals are the future leaders and dreamers of our communities. By partnering our time and financial resources with education, job training and mentorship, we hope to bridge this gap and see the most impactful advocates, innovators and leaders our neighborhoods have ever seen, rise up.

Lastly, we want to make sure that every person has a seat at the table, specifically those who have been historically silenced. Our family has a genuine desire to see our homies grow, succeed and live out their dreams. We look forward to partnering with those who share our heart and who want to create long-lasting national and international connections that will better all of our neighborhoods.

We've been approved for a matching grant through the Pierce County Buisness Accelerator Program and they will be matching every donation up to $10,000. Your gift will go towards the cost of our cart, equipment, website design, bookkeeping and branding.
