CONSTRUCTION: The church building committee of Oromo Seventh Day Adventist Church of Portland happily invites you to join us in building the house of the Lord! For more than two decades we have been worshipping in a rented church. God is expanding our territory and encouraging us to build our own church. Approximately 40% of the project is completed. We have completed the excavation phase and the foundation has been poured. The Framing and Roofing is in process. Let us all join hand-in-hand to finish the remaining project.

We want to thank you all for an amazing Take6 Benefit Concert at Rolling Hills Community Church in Tualatin, OR on April 6, 2024. Please Contribute to this Church Building Campaign and share with friends so that they can participate and pray for this project. We have raised $1,068,788 of a total goal of 1,850,000! We have $781,212 left to raise approximately!

OUTREACH: The Oromo SDA Church in Portland, OR had the privilege of partnering with It Is Written and other churches across the United States in their visit to Ethiopia on a mission trip over a year ago. This trip included doctors, pastors, other clinicians and support staff. Oromo SDA Church's Pastor Gemedi helped coordinate this trip, as he is passionate about outreach in his home country.

During the mission trip the doctors and medical professionals performed almost 2,000 cataract removal surgeries and 15,000 other medical procedures, taking time to pray with every patient. Over the course of the mission trip, almost 3,000 people were baptized by Pastor Gemedi and the team of pastors.

Now, Oromo SDA Church is looking to build a church of their own here in Portland, Oregon. The project will allow them to have a permanent place of worship, and to continue their outreach across the globe.
