Build our Spanish classroom library!

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Angela and I'm a high school Spanish teacher in Louisville, Kentucky. I've been at my new school for a year and a half and one of the saddest things for me is that my classroom is missing a library of Spanish readers.

At the school I previously taught at in rural Texas, I slowly bought extra books to fill my classroom library over the span of ten years. I spent thousands of my own dollars building up that library for my students, but when I left my position, I also left behind that library for future students of that school as a donation.

I would love to fill up the library at my new school (without waiting a decade!), and I would be incredibly grateful if others could give my new students at my downtown school the same gift I gave to my old students at my rural school.

I'm looking to buy about 5 copies of various high-interest comprehensible novels aimed at levels 1 through 3 to have a library for students to choose a book that interests them (and have enough to let them read in small groups). I also am hoping to have a small class set for about 15 different novels with cultural ties to read with the advanced levels on a rotating yearly schedule. A decade ago, each reader cost about $7, but now novels are usually $10 or more, plus shipping.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my fundraising goals for my classroom. Any amount that you choose to share with our classroom will be greatly appreciated!

This is what our entire current reader library looked like for my entire department: 20 copies of a single level 1 novel. Please rescue our Spanish library!
