Justice for Samantha Humphrey

My name is Nica Joy and I am raising funds in an attempt to seek justice for my murdered niece Samantha Valentine Humphrey.

Samantha was 14 years old when she was murdered by an as yet unarrested assailant November 2022 in a park near her home in Schenectady, NY.

Update from 10/28/24: We have an announcement!

We are approaching the two year anniversary of the date Samantha was last seen and held by her loved ones before she was cruelly ripped from this earth by pure evil.

This is two years too long and Samantha deserves better. We have moved from billboards to lawn signs, with the aim to spread these throughout the community and beyond, thus expanding our reach farther than our original two billboards possibly could. We are also increasing our reward!

As many of you know, Samantha Humphrey’s grandfather Lou has previously submitted an incredibly generous contribution to Samantha’s reward fund. Lou has now gone above and beyond to increase his personal donation to $15k!! Combined with the $5k we have raised via our GoFundMe so far, we are now offering a reward totaling $20,000.00 to whoever comes forward with information leading to an arrest and conviction of Samantha’s killer. Thank you to Lou for making this increase in Samantha’s reward fund!!

Our suggested donation for a sign, which will be used to pay for additional signs and grow our reward fund, is $10 per sign. However we are happy with any donation amount at all, and will gladly give signs to anyone unable to donate who is simply willing to put up a sign for Samantha.

We are happy to deliver signs to all who order, either to your home or business, or to a conveniently located, public place.

Our goal is to continue to build a reward fund which we can offer to the individual who comes forward with information leading to an arrest and conviction of Samantha’s murderer, and continue our long-term goal of a permanent memorial to Sam and to justice, where Sammy’s ashes will rest in power.

Thank you for all who can support us via a donation towards a reward fund, and to those willing to display signs for us. The farther we can spread news of an increased reward, the better. And remember, these signs display well in windows too, for those of us who prefer to keep the sign out of inclement weather, or who simply do not have a lawn on which to place them. Our hope is to raise funds for the following:

1. Two billboards initially funded by our family will be posted in Samantha’s home town of Schenectady, NY asking the public for information, in exchange for a reward, leading to the arrest and conviction of Samantha’s killer. Our first priority is to keep funding these billboards for as long as it takes to make an arrest in this case.

2. We plan to use funds generated here to continue to increase the reward we are offering to whoever provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of Samantha’s murderer. We have collected ten thousand dollars to start, but with your help we hope to increase that significantly. Our goal is to increase the reward in $5000 increments as possible.

3. Any funds that remain after funding the two billboards and hopefully giving a substantial reward to the person responsible for turning in Samantha’s killer (leading to an arrest and conviction) will be utilized towards a permanent memorial for our beloved Sam that her friends, family, and the community can visit to preserve the memory of her life in perpetuity. (We include this option in case there is progress on the case without information generated by the reward offer, so you know your donation will be productive in any event).

4. Should any money remain after meeting these goals, it will be donated to a local animal shelter to honor one of Sam's biggest loves. All financial actions on our part will be documented on this site for the review of those folks who choose to help us work for justice.
