Building a Family After Loss: Bryce & Jack
Donation protected
Hello!
To introduce ourselves, my name is Bryce Oldham-Novarro! My husband is Jackson Oldham-Novarro. We got married last year and are nearing our one-year anniversary!
My dream since I was a young kid was to be a dad. It transcends any other wish I have ever had for my life. I am currently working my dream job at Disney+, but all of my accomplishments pail in comparison to my dream to be a father. Jack feels the same way - we want to raise a family together. Raise our kids to love God, love others, love the world.
Jack and I met in 2020. In 2023 we faced our first tragedy together. On a random February morning Jack rushes into the house to tell me his dad had a heart attack. Things got worse and that day his father passed to be with the lord. We flew back to TX and grieved the man who would become my father-in-law.
A year ago, 2024, on the first day of our bachelor party in Vegas we got another call. My dad had fallen from the attic and was in really bad shape. It was like all the air in the room had been sucked out and I was suffocating. Not again. A week later my dad went to heaven as well, probably greeted by Jack's dad.
Around a month later we had our wedding. Often the happiest moment of a persons life overshadowed with an immense sense of grief.
Our journey has only reinforced the notion that family is the most important thing in the world. We had started the surrogacy journey before my dad died, but the circumstances really reinforced that this is what life is all about. Family.
I come here today to ask for help. Jack and I are blessed to have good jobs, but we are struggling with the costs to start a family. My dad's passing has caused major rifts in my family, and while we had help from them at one point, that has now been taken away. We are on our own, which is why we are asking for help.
We currently have an egg donor and have enough money to pay for that as well as the IVF process. All funds from this will go towards the surrogacy process.
There are people with far greater needs than ours, but if you have anything to give to help us achiever our dream of raising a family, we would appreciate it beyond measure.
Psalm 18:2
"The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."
