Building A Family One Piece at a Time

This is Dan and Lindsay and here is their story.
Dan and Lindsay have been together for 13 years. They married in 2018 with plans to start building their family right away. Just shy of a year after their wedding, Lindsay became pregnant, but unfortunately lost the pregnancy to a missed miscarriage. After several months, a new doctor, and some additional testing Lindsay became pregnant again in December of 2019. But in January, they were hit by heartbreak again, experiencing a second miscarriage.
After a year without successfully becoming pregnant, they decided to continue with further testing. This testing found that Dan had some abnormal values which lead to more testing. That testing lead to a diagnosis of Stage 1 Testicular Cancer. Thankfully, with the early detection, the cancer was caught and treated without the need for chemo or radiation! This was a huge relief for the couple as chemo and radiation can be detrimental for male fertility. It was the doctors recommendation to start a medication to help improve Dan's fertility along with their chances of being able to conceive naturally. Unfortunately, this medication was not effective and there was no change.
At this point, the doctor informed them that they would have to proceed with IVF.
After a consultation date wasn't available until February, plans to save up, pick up extra hours and do some side work was put into place. However, a phone call last week, brought great news as they were asked to take a cancellation spot and move their consultation up to NOV 17th!! However, that meant time to come up with the funding was just cut in half!
Which brings us to our fundraiser.
We are hoping to help raise funds to help offset the cost of IVF for Dan and Lindsay. Money raised will go towards medications, multiple monitoring appts, travel expenses, retrieval costs and transfer, as well as storage fees for embryos to be used in the future. It is a very expensive, emotional, and exhausting process and we hope to be able to at least lift some of the stress, as they journey down this road to parenthood. Dan and Lindsay's goal is to begin the process of prepping for procedure in January!
A puzzle was purchased for the couple and each puzzle piece will represent a donation. You can choose to donate in any amount. For each donation, the name of the donor will be written on the back of the puzzle, unless you wish to remain anonymous. This puzzle will then be framed and given to Dan and Lindsay.
Together, we can help Dan and Lindsay 'Build a Family One Piece at a Time"
