Building a Mosque for Palestinian Refugees in Sheikh Zuweid
Donation protected
My name is Maxence Clairmidi, and I am reaching out with a heartfelt plea for help. Originally from a small town in France, I am currently in Sheikh Zuweid, Egypt, working on humanitarian aid initiatives. My deep connection with Islam and the Muslim community drives my commitment to assist those in dire need.
Our Mission
We are raising funds to construct Masjid Al-Nour, a mosque in Sheikh Zuweid, near the border with Palestine. This mosque will provide a much-needed sanctuary for Palestinian refugees fleeing conflict, offering a place for worship and community support.
A Personal Story
Mariam Al-Sayed, a 27-year-old Palestinian refugee, shares her story: "My name is Mariam Al-Sayed, and I once lived in Gaza, Palestine, a place filled with memories and dreams. The war changed everything overnight. I lost my home, my dreams, and the future I had worked so hard to create. The conflict has left many of us without shelter, food, or basic necessities. Families are torn apart, and hope is scarce. We have sought refuge in Sheikh Zuweid, but there is an urgent need for a mosque to support the growing number of refugees and provide a place for worship and community support."
The Mosque Project
Building Masjid Al-Nour is about more than just constructing a place of worship. It represents restoring dignity, offering hope, and creating a sense of community for those who have lost everything. This mosque will be a beacon of hope, where we can gather to pray, find comfort, and support one another through these challenging times.
The Urgent Need
The peaceful days before the war now seem like distant memories. We once gathered for iftar during Ramadan, visited the beach with friends, and dreamt about our futures. The harsh realities of war have taken a heavy toll. Many, like Mariam, have lost loved ones, homes, and a sense of normalcy.
Current Challenges
Today, many families are living in overcrowded, inadequate conditions. Access to water, food, and medical care is a daily challenge. In one small room, Mariam and seven family members struggle to maintain a semblance of normalcy. They walk kilometers to fill water tanks, and bathing is a luxury they can only afford every ten days.
Use of Funds
The funds raised will be directly used to build Masjid Al-Nour.
This will include:
● Construction Materials: Quality materials to ensure the mosque is safe and sustainable.
● Labor Costs: Hiring skilled workers to build the mosque.
● Essential Amenities: Installation of water, electricity, and sanitation facilities.
The project will be overseen by Sheikh Omar Al-Farouqi, ensuring transparency and that every donation is used effectively.
Your Impact
Your generosity will help create a safe haven where hope can be rekindled. Masjid Al-Nour will not only serve as a place of worship but also as a community center where refugees can find solace, support, and a sense of belonging. Here, children can learn and play, and families can support one another in rebuilding their lives.
How You Can Help
Your contribution can make a profound difference. It will provide a place for refugees to gather, pray, and find comfort. Your support will help turn a vision of hope into a reality, providing a vital resource for those in desperate need.
Thank you for considering our cause. Your kindness and generosity can bring hope and support to those who need it most. Together, we can make a significant impact and help rebuild lives.
