Building Bali Better
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Jasmine Speers and I am a disability support worker -
While I was traveling in Bali April I heard about an orphanage that was also supporting children that had disabilities.
This being so close to my heart I decided that I had to check it out.
I fundraised a little money whilst there asking my friends for whatever they could spare.
My trip from Uluwatu to We Love Bali took about an hour on bike.
While I was at the felicity I was greeted by the nurses who all seemed very engaged with the children and more than happy to help me with any questions I had.
My primary focus was on how to best help the felicity and I am proud to say that they are taking such good care of the little ones! Some of the children are babies ranging from 12 months old through to 12 years.
As you can see by the photos I've uploaded from the day there is a big musical component to the felicity and a whole lotta love.
As I wondered around and thought about what best to do I noticed that the main room didn't have a ceiling fan - the babies room was well cooled with aircon ( incase you were wondering )
I thought wouldn't it be awesome if we could rise a little money and renovate the building?
We could turn this into a really nice fun space where you feel that it's been set up for kids!
Like a playground or care centre.
You have to understand these kids spend most of their time in the felicity itself so any upgrade to it would be a massive benefit.
I myself am pledging $2,000 and have some tradies who are already interesting in coming over to help with the build.
I have a target of $10,000 to get the project done.
All the funds donated will be going towards the building materials and if we are employing locals for the project.
I myself will be taking time off work and would need to be there for the majority of the project and would set up a spreed sheet that can be accessed by anyone who's interested in seeing where their funds are going :)
Any spare money I will be donating to the charity itself for baby items and to help pay for the nurses salaries.
Amel age 10 years. Physical disability - amazing smile and incredible voice!
