BLT's Building Blocks of Hope, Essential Equipment

BLT Construction Services, Building Blocks of Hope is back with a new campaign dedicated to helping the charities in our communities combat food insecurity. We are excited to announce this years fundraising campaign is for essential kitchen equipment!

Our goal is to raise a total of $25,000 for essential kitchen equipment such as range, refrigerators and bread proofer, to help the charities in our communities serve nourishing meals.

In Toronto, our office is raising funds to replace the range oven for The Stop Community Food Centre. These essential pieces of equipment will significantly increase meal accessibility for individuals facing food insecurity in Toronto.

The Stop Community Food Centre has been devoted to enhancing healthy food access in Toronto for over 40 years, actively engaging with the community, providing support, fostering health, and advocating for equality. In Vancouver, our office is focusing on raising funds for two commercial double-door fridges, which will be donated to the Heart Tattoo Society. These reach-in refrigerators are vital in preserving and expanding access to fresh food for those struggling with food insecurity.

The Heart Tattoo Society is committed to addressing emergencies, coordinating material aid, collaborating with local programs, and supporting vulnerable individuals, ultimately working towards a stronger and more compassionate DTES community through sustainable solutions. In Victoria, our office is dedicated to fundraising for a bread proofer that will be donated to New Roads Therapeutic Recovery Community. This bread proofer offers an opportunity for residents to engage in the recovery process and take responsibility for both their individual well-being and that of the community.

New Roads Therapeutic Recovery Community is a long-term residential treatment facility serving adult men dealing with acute and chronic substance use issues, with priority given to those who have experienced homelessness and interactions with the criminal justice system.
