Building Community-Breaking Poverty-Through Homesteading
Donation protected
We have a city farm in Spokane, WA. We already get to do incredible things, including hosting people from all over the world at our short-term rental and through a work exchange program. We get to host neighbors, service project days, and community outreach events. We love our life... but the dream keeps growing, and there is more impact to be had.
We are looking to purchase a commercial building that comes with a vacant lot just a few blocks from our house. This would be a homestead mercantile with tools, books, and classes for everything homestead. As well, the vacant lot will become a community garden. We want to empower people to build community and break the poverty/scarcity mindset. We want to be a hand up, not a handout. We want to give people meaningful work. The dream just keeps growing. Doors are opening, and this is so much bigger than we can do alone!
