Building for CT Scanner Facility at IDH, Sri Lanka
Donation protected
Due to the Covid-19 crisis Sri Lanka is bracing to enhance medical facilities to accommodate increasing demand of medical requirements. Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH), Angoda , Sri Lanka has been at the forefront of treating the continuous stream of patients with the agility and efficiency of a world-class health system. A CT scan machine, which is very important at this time in assessing the complications in timely response to treatment of COVID-19 patients has been allocated to IDH recently. A specially designed building is proposed to be constructed at the premises of IDH immediately to install the CT scan machine and provide timely diagnosis to the COVID-19 patients.
We, the Engineering Association of Group 92/93 Of University of Moratuwa, at the kind request of hospital authorities have initiated a CSR project to construct the above-proposed building. Sri Lanka Navy has agreed to provide labour and supervision which will reduce the total project cost to LKR 20 Million. (AU$ 162,000)
The project is to be carried out in two phases as follows,
1. Phase 1 – Construction of CT Scan, Control, UPS and Transformer Rooms
2. Phase 2 – Complete Building adding Patients Waiting Area, Preparation Area, Rooms for Consultant Radiologist, Technicians, Changing, etc.
Phase 1 work was initiated on the 10th April 2020, and is expected to complete by 12th of May enabling the usage of the CT Scanner at this hour of need.
This is a quite mammoth task to be supported only by our batch mates so we are trying to reach out to the wider community to support the good cause.
Your donations towards this meritorious deed are very much welcome!!!
