Building Futures in Ghana: Support Nyapienya’s Children
Donation protected
The children of Nyapienya's arrive every morning to a worn out school. Their desire to learn is hindered by a lack of basic infrastructure— broken desks, lack of textbooks, guano-stained walls, and no access to the electrical grid or sanitation facilities. To make matters worse, the children arrive to school on an empty stomach, looking forward to a state-sponsored, non-nutritious meal provided at lunch time.
The MARWILAK foundation was established two years ago in Accra and reunites scholars from around the world who work towards a common purpose: to sponsor the education of marginalized Ghanaians living in rural communities. As we understand, children should not have to regard basic necessities as luxuries. To remediate to the situation in Nyapienya, MARWILAK Foundation has decided to adopt the village's elementary school, but we need your help to do this. Since we are a non-for-profit organization that is run entirely by volunteers across West Africa, North America and Europe, 100% of your donations will go towards funding the school, its needs and the mission.
As part of our commitment, we are actively working with the community to reach our shared objectives. Among these are:
1. Provide adequate classroom desks, chairs, blackboards, and storage cabinets. (3000$)
2. Supply teaching and learning materials including textbooks, stationery, and teaching aids. (500$)
3. Install electricity to improve classroom lighting. (400$)
4. Construct gender-sensitive washroom facilities to improve hygiene and student attendance, especially for girls. (1000$)
5. Renovate deteriorating classrooms to ensure safety and comfort. (1500$)
6. Provide breakfast to the students during Ghana's education week as part of our MARWILAK Food Project initiative. (600$)
We aim to start the renovation projects as soon as the academic term ends on July 24, 2025. By July 25, MARWILAK volunteers will be in the village, donating their time to help the community rebuild the school. We would be tremendously grateful if you could help us with this project.
