Building the only concert organ in NE Brazil

Donation protected
The Merklin organ from 1855 in the Madre de Deus church, the modest last remnant of the organ heritage in north-eastern Brazil, was bought when the "Madre de Deus" church was demolished as a substitute for a large organ which never came to be. It is even insufficient for the big celebrations, let alone for concerts or organ recitals, etc., which would give the Madre de Deus an urgently needed increase in presence and attractiveness in the cultural life of the North-East of Brazil.

Therefore, we decided to buy 3 organs in Germany and Luxembourg, to give them to the Archdiocese of Recife-Olinda and to integrate them into the organ of Madre de Deus as part of the extension of the existing organ in order to preserve it in all its parts, for reasons cultural heritage protection.

This very complex and ambitious project is being carried out by the outstanding Brazilian organ building company "Daniel Gazzaniga Rigatto Orgãos de Tubos EPP" to order of the Archdiocese of Olinda-Recife. They are very enthusiastic and helpful but since the murderous COVID19 pandemy they desperately lack funds, and the project has been slowed down. On our side we do what we can, but we cannot handle the whole project on our own, therefore we started this gofundme and would very much appreciate your contributions!
