Building Bridges for Bridgette

Donation protected
They say friends are the family you choose, and the people in this family are like family to us.   Brittany Hart and, her daughter, Malaya Mae received a new baby girl to their family on November 10th 2014. They have been in and out, a lot more in than out, of the Children's Hospital since Bridgette's birth. We have started this campaign on their behalf and we are looking to help as much as possible as gastroparesis is a lifetime condition. This is her story in short if you wish to know more information please email Danyelle Deakin.

Brittany Hart, our beloved friend, gave birth on November 10th 2014 to a beautiful baby girl, Bridgette Ann Dziuba. Since this little girl has entered our world she has fought day by day to survive bacteria, obstructions, surguries and recoveries. During the healing process infections commonly occur and cause new problems, due to a weak immune system and a drug resistant e-coli. Bridgette also has no muscle movement in her small intestine, this means at times she still needs to be drained, but her absorption in the small intestine is good.

We all celebrated Bridgette's first bowl movement at seven months old, shortly after her third surgery. This was a huge goal and a success we all enjoyed!!!
Out of all the professional gizmos and gadgets at the Children's Hospital, Bridgette has had TPN line, NG feeding tube, collostomy bag, central line, G tube and suctioned airways. Even with the success she has had to this point she still needs her TPN, G tube, Central line and colostomy bag to survive.

Bridgette spent just over the first year of her life in the Children's Hospital. On the 23rd of November 2015 the family finally was released and able to start an at home lifestyle. Bridgette is still required to go to the Children's Hospital for regular check ups or if she gets sick.
Shortly after Christmas in 2015 Bridgette had a relapse and was back in the Children's Hospital in isolation. In January 2016 to March 2016 Bridgette was in and out of the Children's hospital another two times.
Since then Bridgette has had to have another surgery but this time adding intestine instead of taking it out. Its was after this surgery that they could tell Bridgette's small intestine muscles did not have movement but her absorption rate is good.

"Bridgette Ann still smiles every morning showing her strengths and willingness to build that bridge to survive and overcome her obsticles"

~With that said we believe if we can raise some money we can help build a bridge to a brighter future for Miss Bridgette Ann Dziuba.
