Lipnitsa Summer Camp
Every summer a team of young people from the UK help us to run a 10 day summer camp at the Black Sea for 40 of Lipnitsas most at-risk children. The youth team runs activities, games and craft as well as Christian teaching sessions. I have secured one of the seven places available on the 14 day trip in August 2014.
A lack of government funding forces Lipnitsa School-Orphanage to shut during school holidays. For Lipnitsa's abandoned and disadvantaged children the holidays mean life on the streets or back in poverty stricken communities that struggle to provide just one meal per day. Each summer and winter The Trussell Trust runs holiday camps where Lipnitsa's most vulnerable children are safe and loved.
As a Youth Team member I am expected to raise the funds needed to take part in this programme. This year the cost will be £725. This pays for flights, transport (exluding travel to and from UK airports), food and accommodation.
