FROM BULLIED TO USA FIGHTER

Donation protected
Once bullied,  Garland High School student Annalicia Sustaita now packs a wallop as an amateur boxing champion.

At her lowest point, Annalicia Sustaita remembers lying awake at night, unable to sleep.  “I had the knife in my hand,” she said. “I was going to end everything right there.”

She had been bullied since the fourth grade, in person and online. She got ugly calls from people asking why she was alive.

But something kept Annalicia from taking that fatal step. She thought about her parents and what they would have to endure without her. She couldn’t let the bullies win.

Annalicia discovered boxing, and with hard work and dedication she began her journey from 198 down to 125 pounds.  Now, no one bullies her and now she calls herself a champion.

In January 2015, the 16-year-old Garland Junior won the welterweight title at the USA Boxing Junior Open and Youth National Championships in Reno, Nev. The feat earned her a place on the U.S.A. youth team that will compete in the world championships in May in Taipei, Taiwan.

Funds will be used for family expenses to travel with her and to support her in one of her greatest achievements to date.  Annalicia's fighting spirit has taken her from a dark and lonely time of being bullied to being Ranked #1 in the Nation for the Youth walterwight division.
