Bulls Helping Hulk Smash Leukemia
Donation protected
7-year-old South Florida Bulls fan, Bode Hulk Wyatt, needs our help as he faces the BIGGEST battle of his life. On April 14th, 2022, Bode was living his best life –playing flag football with his older brother, Jackson THOR. That evening, he began to have some unusual symptoms, and, before you know it, he was in the hospital at Arnold Palmer waiting for tests to come back. Bode was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on April 21st, 2022, and has been admitted to the hospital to begin his 2- 3 year-long fight against cancer.
Bulls Offensive Lineman, Brad Cecil, learned about Bode’s condition on Twitter when he saw the #hulksmashleukemia trending. He immediately wanted to help. Brad and Big Man Big Heart’s founder, FSU offensive lineman, Dillan Gibbons reached out to the Wyatt family to offer their support through this GoFundMe fundraiser. The Wyatt family is comprised of Rob and Jamey Wyatt and their four children – 11-year-old Jackson THOR, 7-year-old Bode HULK, and 2-year-old twins Zeke FALCON and Maximus FURY. Rob and Jamey met while attending USF together and have been married for 13 years. They have always been Bulls fans – their family purchased USF Bulls football season tickets in the inaugural year (1997.) Their extended family went to USF as well.
Through the years, Rob and Jamey and their crew of super-hero boys have loved attending Bulls football games, men’s and women’s basketball games, and baseball games – even though they had to trek over from the East coast of Florida to get there. The Wyatt’s are a USF Bulls Family and Brad and Dillan want to enlist the support and prayers of ALL USF BULLS Family, Friends, and Fans, to Help Hulk Smash Leukemia. You can HELP right now by DONATING and SHARING this GoFundMe with as many people as possible. We hope to build an army of prayer warriors that will surround Bode and the entire Wyatt family in LOVE and SUPPORT.
Bode is a gifted student with straight A’s from K-2nd grade at Woodward Avenue Elementary. He loves playing flag football and basketball. He had to stop playing flag football in the middle of the season due to this illness, but his teammates showed their support by adding BODESTRONG to the back of their jersey’s and finished the season strong – winning 3 of their last 4 games. Bode is the kid in class who tries to make sure everyone is included and he never meets a stranger. He always goes out of his way to welcome new people or make someone happier if they are feeling down. He is an avid reader who is learning to play the piano. He’s adventurous and loves being outdoors –climbing trees, zip-lining, river tubing, and hiking. He has been very positive and inquisitive throughout the leukemia process. He has never complained through surgery, multiple lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, endless meds, and pokes. Nurses have praised him for being a model patient.
Bode started his cancer battle with blood transfusions. He recently had a port installed, which he refers to as his IRON MAN PORT, and he has been receiving chemotherapy at Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando. They will have to return to the hospital for additional chemotherapy every Thursday. That involves a great deal of travel and additional expenses this family did not expect to incur. The Wyatt family needs all of the support they can get as they navigate this new phase in their lives and get Bode to the other side of this cancer battle. Expenses we are looking to help with include travel expenses to and from the hospital, temporary housing including AirBnB’s and hotel rooms, childcare costs for the twins as Jamey will have to attend appointments with Bode, and over $30,000.00 in out-of-pocket medical expenses. Little Bode Hulk is strong as can be and his personality shines through this adversity as he has been sharing his “Jokes of the Day,” on his Dad’s Twitter account. If any family can get through this challenging diagnosis, this family of USF Bulls Super Heros can certainly do it. Let’s support them and show them BIG LOVE!
