Bungee for Blake
Donation protected
Without any kind of warning, on 21st March 2022 my nephew, and sister and brother in-law’s beloved, smiley, bright and wonderful baby boy, Blake, suffered a stroke at the age of just 12 months old.
Following this, Blake and his family have been through what no family should ever have to endure.
Blake had further multiple strokes and he and his Mummy spent just over 16 long weeks in Leeds General Infirmary.
Beautiful Blake has been left with serious health needs and brain damage and is now disabled.
Blake and Kelly have recently returned to their family home and have been at long last reunited with Blake’s Daddy and also his big sister, Vienna.
It is unthinkable what Kelly and Chris have endured and continue to endure, but they are doing brilliantly in caring for their precious boy and learning a new way of doing things to ensure that Blake’s needs are fully met. They are incredible.
No amount of money will ever make right this unbelievable wrong. However, my aim with this fundraiser is to help raise funds to contribute towards some very important equipment for Blake, to give him the best comfort and to offer practical ways to make day to day life more manageable for Blake and his family.
So far Blake has been given various pieces of equipment and machines which are vital to meeting his health needs on a daily basis and to keep him as comfortable as possible. That said, there are other pieces of equipment which the NHS have not been able to provide, but which would make an enormous difference practically to Blake and his family.
Kelly and Chris would never ask for this, and that is all the more why I am doing this. They are so humble, and despite that fact that they have endured hell, they expect nothing.
Please give anything you can to help me raise some money for my beautiful nephew.
I am in no doubt that reading Blake’s story alone will be enough to make you tap a few digits into your phone, but I am also doing a ‘Bungee Jump for Blake’ on 7th August 2022 from the Larpool Viaduct in Whitby.
I am pretty petrified of doing a bungee jump, and it is something I have always said I will never, ever do. However, for Blake and his family I will cast aside my fears and take the plunge (or probably be pushed!) because the fear I experience will be nothing compared to what Blake’s family continue to go through each day.
