This is the statement for you to help us accomplish, marking the beginning of such a great journey in the city of Tacoma and to save Burger Seoul. Here’s why…

For us as a team, this has been a dream for over 8 years of serving food. There has never been a financial ask since the beginning… We found a dream spot, but lately, our plans have changed a lot since we closed our food trailer at 19th’s… What happened was the 19th grocery decided not to invest in changing their grease trap to a hydromechanical grease interceptor, which doesn’t qualify as a commissary kitchen in the health department’s code. Plus, in fact, the senior regulatory analyst with the City of Tacoma informed the current owner of the 19th grocery that the building is too old, so they won’t allow it anyway. At that time, it meant we no longer had a commissary kitchen to wash our kitchen tools and dishes. Also, we lost about 10k to changing our commissary kitchen didn’t go well. I failed that, due to the fact that not only we couldn’t afford, but can’t moving around that heavy trailer with two wheels. That our problem to have that my fault that I can’t fix it, so I failed on the inspection by the health. So In other words, be prepared to close. I completely disagree with their decision-making and the way they’re handling things with restaurant owners. I felt very left out of their decision, which is still questionable, inaccurate, and unfair in many cases. I truly think that you should know why I’m asking this way… More importantly, being transparent is key; I’m not here to complain. At the end of the day, you must follow through with good intentions. It sounds a little odd, but everything is factually correct. Just move on and do it better on my end no matter what. Yes, with one more step, we’re on track to be able to get it done.

Community is crucial to the success of the business. Now, everything is aligned with our plans except for a few more things, although we’ve had to give up a lot of things we wanted to do with our new brick and mortar. The steps required to open the new location are already well underway; we need financing to get across the finish line. The goals for the future are even better than those for the food truck. We can’t wait to have you all here to try not only the original menu but also our new menu. We have some special items on the way to make some changes, and we’re confident that we’ll do it again.

Here to ask you, customers, followers, and community, we’re about one step away from the finish, and I’m genuinely asking for your help. The things are hard and we know that in this difficult season… But every little bit of help would make the journey possible, especially at this moment because we’re very close to getting the kitchen equipments to complete our building project for the new location in April/May!

Hopefully, this will cover the last part of our reopening process. Thank you for your help and this opportunity. We’ll forever be grateful.
