Burial expenses for John Daman

My name is John Daman ll. (Yes me and my dad have the same name) My father John Daman l passed away in hospice on Friday January the 27th. He was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict and is survived by 10 children, 24 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Our mother passed away almost exactly a year ago. The VA is helping with some funeral expenses and we are all chipping in. Unfortunately our dad did not have much financial resources when he left this world so it falls to us to give him the burial he deserves. Our dad in many ways died from a broken heart after he lost his wife only a year ago. Our family is grappling with the financial aspects of planning another funeral in just a years time. Our dad was a larger than life character whose greatest accomplishment in life was his family. The loss to our family is deep. We loved him dearly and want to send him off the right way. Funds will be used to pay for funeral, burial expenses, unpaid medical expenses, flowers and and rental of a gathering hall at the funeral home to have a potluck dinner in his memory. Thank you for helping a veteran and father and his family in this time of grief. Any excess funds will be used to help my brother David Daman clean out his house and temporarily provide living expenses. My brother David cared for our mother and father in the last years of their life. It was a full time job that involved everything from bathing, cooking, cleaning, helping my dad get in and out of bed ect ect and generally running the household. David needs a little time to find a new job and living accommodations.

Our fathers funeral service will be on Wednesday 02-01-2023 at Mueller funeral home, 6791 Tylersville rd Mason Ohio and the burial will be 10 am Thursday 2-2-2023 at VA national cemetery in Dayton Ohio. Non monetary cards and flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
