Help Burial Grounds Coffee Collective Survive!

Burial Grounds is dying! Long Live Burial Grounds!

Despite the workers' best efforts- the global pandemic, the rising cost of goods, and the struggles of being a leftist business under capitalism have left Burial Grounds in dire financial straights. If nothing should change, a collection of expenses, due at the end of October, will put us out of business.

Since re-opening the space, we have been seeing a steady increase in profits and are working hard to plan events, shows, and new strategies to keep that upward trend going. Unfortunately, they are not yet increasing fast enough to save us. Our fundraising goal of 5000 dollars, along with our projected monthly profits, will get us through the end of October. However, the more money we can raise now, the more time we have for that steady increase to catch up to our expenses.

We are also heading into the wintertime, which has historically been a slower season for us. If we can raise money now, it will provide us with a buffer to protect us from slow months or unexpected expenses should they arise. It would be fantastic if we could get ahead of possible calamities (looking at you, cranky old espresso machine) so that we don't have to do this again.

More money would also enable us to invest in new opportunities. If we can get the coffee we roast certified organic we can get it carried at the Olympia Food Co-op (Fun Fact!: BG owns and operates its own roaster in Olympia). We already buy organic/fair trade coffee, but the certification fee is around $2000. T

Rather than go quietly to wherever businesses go when they die, we've decided to have a grand funeral for BG before it has truly met its end. Thursday October 20th we are hosting a grand funeral fundraiser for Burial Grounds. Come to the coffee shop during the day to share art and memories and eulogize all that is BG. Then we will have a grand funeral procession through the streets to the crypt for bands and DJs to mourn with our dancing bodies.

If your band/burlesque troupe/sad clown brigade/art vendor/tattoo shop would like to be involved in this event and help us raise money, don't hesitate to get in touch with us through Instagram @burialgroundscofee or email at [email redacted].
